Honey Grilled Shrimp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div style=\"float:right;margin:3px\"><script type=\"text\/javascript\"src=\"http:\/\/ap.lijit.com\/www\/delivery\/fpi.js?z=262584&u=outdoorcook&width=300&height=250\"><\/script><\/div>I'm not a huge seafood lover. \u00a0My wife, on the other hand, loves seafood. \u00a0Since I'm the one that grills and does all the other outdoor cooking and seafood isn't high on my list, I don't cook it very often. \u00a0I did cook the <a title=\"Grilled Salmon on Cedar Planks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/grilled-salmon-cedar-planks\/\">salmon on cedar planks<\/a> and that was pretty good. And I don't mind shrimp. \u00a0So I decided to try a shrimp dish. \u00a0This one was super easy, cooked quick, and tasted great.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It seems like when I skim through grilling cookbooks for something to try, so many things ask for a lot of time to strip up\u00a0and use a marinade, sometimes even letting the meat soak in the marinade overnight. \u00a0If you are like me, that doesn't always work, depending on the time I have available. \u00a0I skimmed through my cookbooks and found this shrimp recipe that only required 30 minutes soaking up the marinade in the fridge. \u00a0You don't generally want any more than that for seafood so that it doesn't get all mushy!<\/p>\n<p>I wasn't sure how many were going to be at home for dinner, so I cut the recipe in half. \u00a0I should have just made a full recipe because we had one son home and half the recipe was just enough for him, my wife, and me.<\/p>\n<p>To make Honey Grilled Shrimp, I peeled one pound of medium shrimp.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8222-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5237\" src=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8222-2.jpg\" alt=\"Shrimp to be peeled\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8222-2.jpg 1442w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8222-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8222-2-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I mixed 4 oz of Italian salad dressing, 1\/2 cup of honey, and 1\/4 tsp of minced garlic. \u00a0After you mix it, dump half of the marinade into a bowl or ziplock bag with the shrimp. \u00a0Cover the shrimp and cover the remaining marinade and put both in the fridge for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8224-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5238\" src=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8224-2.jpg\" alt=\"Shrimp in the Honey Marinade\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8224-2.jpg 1442w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8224-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8224-2-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Start soaking some wood skewers to be used. \u00a0I usually just dump out one of the drawer containers that is long enough and soak the skewers in that. \u00a0It's the perfect length!<\/p>\n<p>After 30 minutes, go turn the grill on and let it get hot. \u00a0While the grill is heating up, go back to the shrimp. \u00a0Slide the shrimp onto the bamboo skewers. \u00a0I find that using two skewers at a time help to keep what I'm putting on them from turning, so I used a pair of skewers for each set of shrimp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8225-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5239\" src=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8225-2.jpg\" alt=\"Skewered Shrimp\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8225-2.jpg 1442w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8225-2-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8225-2-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Put the shrimp skewers on the grill and grill, uncovered over medium heat for about two minutes on each side of the shrimp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8229-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5240\" https:\/\/www.outdoorcookingmagic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_8229-2-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now baste the shrimp with the rest of the marinade that you saved earlier. \u00a0Let me warn you that your grill grates will get quite messy with this honey based sauce.<\/p>\n<p>Grill for several more minutes until the shrimp is pink. \u00a0I like to flip the skewers over several timesso that I get a bit of a char on the shrimp. \u00a0Each time you turn the shrimp, baste with more marinade.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here is
