Was absolutely perfect. Was a huge hit and requested for all upcoming trips. Crackers were big hit for dipping. Loved this recipe

Thanks, Lana. I agree. I love doing this dish when I teaching someone to cook with a Dutch oven. It’s delicious and pretty fool proof for a beginner.

It’s so good! If I want it more soupy I just leave out the potatoes and baked beans. It’s so good even when I don’t have all the ingredients. Freezes well too and feeds my husband and I three times! I make it once a month in the fall and winter. It’s the best!

Wendy, after you get everything in, it usually takes about 30 minutes. I usually just check the potatoes and when they are done, the whole thing is done. You can put some briquettes on top, but it’s not necessary. Since this has a fair amount of liquid in it, the dish can take more briquettes from the bottom.

Good question and I don’t remember exactly, but it seems like it we fed 6-8 with it. Of course, it depends on how many times they come back for seconds 🙂

Glad you liked it! That’s a quick, easy favorite of mine! I’ve done it for Scout groups as well.

I have recently gotten my first dutch oven and was looking for a simple recipe to try. It was easy to prepare, lots of fun, and everyone loved it!
Thanks!!
