Grady, thanks for the tips on both gas and charcoal. Like the comment Howard gave me over on the charcoal grill question, I’d love to get a pellet smoker, but that will have to wait for now. I’d also like to get a volcano. By the way, I checked out your blog–awesome story. Sounds like you were in the right place and the right time. You were definitely needed for that moment and the special help you could bring.

The one I like the most is a weber genesis. I have had this grill for over 20 years and it has never failed me. It is the old genesis silver model and is built like a brick. The new ones are even better. It is a three burner front to rear. I also have a six burner large char broiler. I use it for the large crowds. It will fit a lot of food in it and has the sear burner. It is made for easy cleaning and that is a plus to me. I also have a 22 inch weber kettle that I use for smoking and indirect charcoal cooking. It is the best charcoal cooker I have cooked on. I have a camp chef pellet smoker that was just given to me as a gift and it rocks for cooking. In the mountains for picnicking I use a volcano for just about everything including the Dutch ovens. The best flavored meats come with the pellet smoker and the charcoals or hardwood chunks of wood. I love all of my grills and feel fortunate to have them. I enjoy cooking outdoors and they fulfill my every need. No complaints
