For a good desert or breakfast use cinnamon rolls( that come in the can) wrap it around your stick, and cook it just like the breadsticks. Then when they are done, pass around the icing pack. We prefer to to cook them over coals, they don’t burn as easily. Enjoy!!!!

Barbara, now that you say that, I do remember someone telling me that they had called them doughboys also. It was one of the first things I remember cooking over a fire, other than hot dogs and marshmallows.

We use clean dowel rods for the sticks. About finger thickness is what we prefer. We also bring the dough over the end, making sure to press the seams closed. Rotate over the fire until the outside is golden brown and the dough slides off the stick easily. You know have a “pocket” to squeeze in butter, jelly, honey, ham & cheese, or whatever makes you happy. The dowel rods are easily washed and stored for the next time.
